EWMS alumni become life-long learners who enjoy using their talents and expanding their knowledge to the benefit of the global and local communities. Periodically, we will showcase EWMS alumni who exemplify the spirit of our school.

Dr. Christopher Voigt (former art teacher, Julie's son) has been profiled in a number of places recently due to some break-through work in the field of synthetic biology. Julie writes, "Remember it all started at the Elementary Workshop!!!" Chris and his wife, Dr. Hyon-Jee Lee, welcomed Michael Yoo-Hyon Voigt into the world on Monday, May 1, 2006 in San Francisco.

Tim McBride a rising sophomore at Cab Calloway School for the Arts, took second place in the National Academy of Television Art and Science awards (who present television’s Emmy awards) for his documentary entitled “Election 2004.”

Volunteering
If you have extra time in your month (or your week) consider coming down to your elementary school to spend time with the children. We always welcome adults who wish to listen to children read, are willing to type their dictated stories, or have an expertise to share at a weekly assembly. Call the school if you’re interested in volunteering (302-656-1498).
