Green Tip from Quinn
Take shorter showers. If you do, you will save a lot of energy. You will also save money and you don't have to get yelled at for using all the hot water.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Thank you all, once again, for the outpouring of appreciation toward the teachers last week. The meals, snacks, pampering, charming gift bags and general good will were heartwarming and so, well, appreciated. One teacher said, “I especially enjoyed the one-on-one contact and the looks on the faces of the children when they got to give their varied contributions individually and personally.”
Computer Safety
Attached here is information from iSafe regarding keeping your children safe when they’re on the internet. Amy will begin iSafe lessons next week to ready the EWMS students for the summer when some of them may have more time to explore using their computers. iSafe is conducting a parent survey. Click on Parent Survey in the quick links and log in using our school number: 11302.
Did You Know… The EC classes went to the Read House and Gardens on Monday, May 17. They toured the house and gardens and learned a little history in the process.
Trips like this one taken by the EC classes and the trip to the Franklin Institute taken by the elementary classes last week, could not happen without your help. Thanks for driving and chaperoning. Field trips are an invaluable tool in the teachers’ repertoire for giving children first-hand experiences and helping build their understanding of the world around them.
Green Garden Club News
This Thursday is our last Green Gardening Club meeting. Many thanks to Debbie McDowell who actually knows how to garden! And thanks to Dianne Soccio-Knapp for helping too!

There is an in-service day scheduled for Friday, May 21, 2010. We are offering childcare for the day but only have a couple of slots left. To reserve one for your child please see Laura Messinger.
Assembly Line Ronald McDonald came to EWMS last Friday, May 14, 2010. He showed how skilled he is at juggling and entertained the early childhood kids with many jokes and pratfalls. We were thrilled to have him!
