Parents’ Meeting
Tonight at 7:00 PM is the Parents’ Meeting. This is your chance to meet your committee chair, hear from the EWMS board, meet all the teachers, enjoy refreshments with other EWMS parents, and, perhaps most enjoyably, see photos of all the children at work in their first two weeks of school.  Photos start off the evening, so please be here promptly at 7:00 PM!  (Remember, you will earn parent hours for attending this meeting!)

Peace Day Assembly
peaceWe had lovely weather as we gathered on the labyrinth on Monday morning to participate in the UN Day of Peace observation.  At 11:14 AM, our allotted time, we sang “Light a Candle of Peace” as part of a Montessori movement around the world.  We were fortunate to have plenty of parents and a grandparent on hand to help us with the words on our Peace Pole, “May Peace Prevail on Earth.”  Arabic, Chinese, German, Hebrew, and Spanish translations of those words are also on our pole.  Mary Beth Miller started us off with the English, followed by Cathleen Peipher who read the Spanish (Que las paz prevalzca en la tierra”), Juliane Robinson who did the German (“Möge Friede auf Erden sein”), Ehyal Shweiki who walked peacepeace pole

us through the Hebrew, and finally, Shuying Feng who read the Chinese.  Though we didn’t have a representative to do the Arabic, we did have Rupa Jha who said,
peace peace
“May Peace Prevail on Earth,” in both Hindi and Sanskrit.

Many Thanks

We really appreciate the Housekeeping Committee’s careful, reliable work!
